An investment in our number-one asset… our people.

LOOKING FOR an opportunity to develop your talents to become a restaurant manager? There’s no better place than Golden Corral to develop your skills and experience, along with your educational training, to manage a high-volume restaurant where culinary expertise is valued with made-from-scratch recipes for our guests.

Our partnerships with hospitality and culinary schools promote internship and career opportunities for students to become the future stars of the restaurant industry. Interns gain restaurant operational experience while learning the importance of leadership, teamwork, and hospitality.

Golden Corral’s Internship Program is an introduction to our management candidate training program. As a culinary/ hospitality student participating in an internship, you begin the steps of our management training program that prepare you for either a Hospitality or Kitchen Manager position after graduation.  Following graduation, students who have successfully completed Internship Levels I & II are fast-tracked to continue with our comprehensive management training program to become certified managers.

After successfully completing these levels of training, you’ll be well on your way to successfully managing a restaurant! Put your excellent training to work at a company that values integrity, a strong work ethic, drive, and a sense of hospitality. We reward our managers with competitive compensation, outstanding benefits and opportunities to advance your career.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

While completing your degree, you may participate in two progressive stages of training, each of which targets a different set of critical skills.

INTERNSHIP LEVEL I: Assistant Manager Program – Co-worker Skills

(10 weeks – 400 hours)

During this stage, you gain operational experience in each skill position in the restaurant and learn key performance benchmarks. Assignments include setting build-tos; receiving deliveries; exploring food cost situations/solutions; and learning position operational standards.

INTERNSHIP LEVEL II: Stage Two Assistant Manager Program – Administration Section

(10 weeks – 400 hours)

You must successfully complete Level I to be eligible to begin the Stage Two Assistant Manager Program. During the second stage of your training, you will focus on buffet culinary skills, 10-to-Win products, receiving and inventory, Point-of-Sale system, food cost management, labor control, opening and closing duties, and administration. All modules include assessment evaluations.

Supported by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) and the foodservice industry, ProStart is a two-year career and technical education program in high schools focused on teaching culinary arts and restaurant management fundamentals through a combination of classroom and industry instruction. Once students pass two national exams, demonstrate a mastery of foundational skills, and work 400 mentored hours, they earn the ProStart Certificate of Achievement, which makes them eligible to receive scholarships and course credits at select colleges and universities.

Golden Corral understands investing in the stars of tomorrow is important to grow our industry’s ability to attract the best and brightest talent. Golden Corral has been involved with ProStart at the national level from the onset of the program as a sponsor. Additionally, we provide teacher grants, training and development opportunities for teachers and students, and sponsorships for the state and national level competitions.
